John Austin Snook was born and raised near Gainesville, Florida, where his passion for storytelling took root early in life. As a teenager, he first conceived the idea for what would one day evolve into Blade's Edge, the foundation of the Cross Blade Chronicles saga.
While his love for fantasy and writing remained constant, John pursued degrees in both English and Radiography. He built a career in the medical field, but his evenings and weekends were devoted to crafting fictional worlds and unforgettable characters.
In 2020, with the world shut down due to COVID-19 and people needing hope and escapism more than ever before, the idea for Cross Blade Chronicles became more real and tangible. The pandemic gave Snook the space to finally put the full vision on the page.
Drawing on years of world-building, character development, and the personal conviction that stories should never condescend to their readers, Snook crafted a sprawling debut — a statement of intent for a series built to endure.
When not writing, John enjoys spending time outdoors, connecting with family, and imagining new adventures. His dedication to storytelling continues as he builds the world of Cross Blade Chronicles — a world he's thrilled to finally share with readers around the globe.
